Mission: The Invasion
Location: Zord hangar
Timeline: 1200 Hours, 5th December 2050

Damien led the group through the cave, following the coloured orbs that had been leading them for what felt like an eternity. The cave was lit by what appeared to be some kind of phosphorescent moss. Underneath it, cave paintings illustrated what looked like figures in various colours, although he couldn't be sure that wasn't a side effect of what was leading them.

"How much longer?" He groaned "I feel like these things have been leading us around here for weeks!"

"It's not been that long..." Ellie sighed. "Or has it?" she blinked at Kilena, starting to wonder herself.

“I do not know. I got us to the mouth of this complex of caves.” Kilena said weakly from the back. She felt like she had run a marathon to say the least. It was a marathon she did not remember running either which scared her slightly but she would never admit that to the other two rangers.

"Yeah, how did you know about this place?" Damien asked, glancing back as he added "Somehow I doubt it was on any of the maps."

Kilena shrugged. "I just knew. We do not need to talk about that good luck." Kilena said not wanting to talk about it. It had felt weird like she was there but not there. It had been automatic but she was not in the driving seat for most of it. "We just need to accept it and hope this is the right place and has what we need."

"Just accept it?" Ellie replied. "Just like that? I mean, isn't there some sort of plan here?" She looked between the two of them. "You know, for Power Rangers, you guys don't exactly seem like you know what you're doing most of the time."

Kilena wanted to just sit down and cry but she just stopped and looked at the woman. "Because we don't. We've been rangers for a month." She snapped. "I have no idea what is going on. What happened to me to lead us here, Why my parents seem to be involved, how he became the red ranger, how you became the green ranger... I know no more than you guys."

"A month!?" Ellie blinked, looking between the two of them. "But haven't the Power Rangers been around in like...forever?"

"Different flavour of rangers," Kilena said glancing back with a shrug. She hated to burst her bubble but she needed to be aware of what was occurring.

"And we don't even get dinosaurs. Or a dragon." Damien said before his face lit up "Ooh, do you think that old dragon zord is still in Angel Grove bay? I mean, I don't remember reading it was ever found. Could you imagine how cool it'd be to take that into a battle? With the drill tail and the missile fingers and the chest blaster!"

“Different flavour,” Kilena repeated again as her thoughts went to the other rangers somewhere out there. She hoped they would be okay as they had even less experience.

"I know, but it'd still be cool." Damien noted, sighing "You're right though, doubtful to happen, and it's probably not even there anymore. Pretty sure it got retrofitted for Super Megaforce Silver... That was the same zord, right?"

"No idea. My parents are the ranger experts, not me." Kilena said with a shrug still trying to control her temper. She felt awful like she had run a marathon and could barely remember it. "Plus need to think about the future and not the past. We have way bigger issues."

"Fair point." Damien replied as they reached a darkened area, the lights that had been leading them vanished "Great, now we're blind.."

As if in response to his comment, brilliant flood lights illuminated the area in front of them. About ten feet from where they stood, the stone floor of the cave gave way to a metallic silver one, coloured lines leading off in various directions along it. Red, orange, blue, gold, black, silver, green, pink and yellow. He followed the lines with his eyes, tracing each one to a different recessed pit in the floor labelled one to nine, respectively, the doors to the yellow and gold ones sealed off.

"Well that's lucky..." He said, quickly moving forward and following the red line "If there are all these different colours, do you think there are this many rangers?"

He didn't wait for a response, approaching the red door, seeing a second bulkhead in the way, a circular port in the centre of it. He felt a warmth on his wrist, looking down at the wrist band that took the place of his morpher when not in use, seeing it glowing a brilliant red. As he looked at it, his crystal appeared in mid air in front of him, the image of a lion briefly flashing in it before it flew into the port, docking with it perfectly before the door began to slowly open.

He peered through the gap, his eyes widening. Inside was a large red and silver craft that looked like some cross between a transport and a fighter. It had what looked like a lion's head as a cockpit, it's eyes a brilliant green which lit up in response to the bay being opened.

"Holy shit..." He said, a broad grin forming on his face "Guys, you've got to see this!"

On the other side of the vast cavern, Ellie didn't hear. She was being drawn to the giant green-chrome vehicle that shared similar properties to the one Damien was looking at. An emerald lizard-like prow protruded from the front.

"Hello beautiful..." she whispered, enthralled.

"It's a bird," Kilena said with only the smallest hint of disappointment. Kilena did not want to admit it but she hated birds, it was not something you often saw on KO-35 but the Zord she had to admit was beautiful and she instantly felt a connection to it.

"And mine's a lion." Damien noted, pausing before adding "Think of it this way. At least yours' won't look weird as hell flying around!"

"No one thinks that other than you." Kilena snapped as she stepped up to the zord. Despite her reluctance around birds the zord was beautiful and all hers.

"Okay. Geeze, you try to make a girl feel better..." Damien rolled his eyes as he moved through the door "Everyone gear up. We've got work to do!"

"Work?" Ellie blinked, coming out of her near-trance. "You mean...we're going to use them now?"

"What other choice do we have?" Damien asked "We can sit here, playing with... Anyway, we can sit here and read the owners manuals or we can take them, head to Earth and hopefully, with the others' help, take back the planet. Not going to lie, it's high risk but it's also high reward. I call that my kind of bet."

"It should be intuitive... the morphing grid should give us the ability to use the zords." The pink ranger said sitting down on the floor letting out a yawn. She was more tired than she had felt in a long time.

"There we go, we've got ourselves a plan!" Damien said with a smile before twisting his wrist, his morpher appearing on it while his crystal appeared in his other hand as he slammed it down into the morpher "Back to action!"
